International Folk Music Festival

20-22 May 2010

The oldest folk festival of Southern Transdanubia, which began in 1986. The Pécs Folk Days present the Hungarian folk music within and beyond the borders of the country as well as the top of vocal and instrumental music of the Carpathian Basin, and also offer an opportunity to become acquainted with the musical traditions of other European traditions, moreover exotic cultures, too. During the events, besides authentic presentation of folk and traditional village music, also appear ensembles seeking for new pathways, using folklore as a deep resource, crossing over with bands from popular music scenes. To top it all, folk dance lessons accompany every night after the concerts.
