International Evening on the World Dance Day

The Pécs Dance Marathon, attached to the World Dance Day (29 April), provides a special opportunity for young people to become actively acquainted with the traditions of European dance. For an entire week, dance will sprout up in different city venues and the traditional European values of music and dance constantly be with us. During the "Folk Workshop" matinee events youngsters can take in the cultures of the invited nations in the course of short demonstrations by and communal dancing with the young dancers and musicians arriving from the four countries. Every afternoon the people of and visitors to Pécs can enjoy the participants' dancing at the "Street Music" and "Chain Dance" events in the promenades and newly-renovated squares of Pécs, joining in should they which and augmenting the mass of dancers. Each early evening in Jókai Square there will be a gala event when the foreign ensembles and Pécs groups take to the stage.
