8-11 April 2010
Dominican House, Hotel Palatinus Bartók Hall
Practicing and young choral conductors arrive in Pécs from around Hungary and abroad to engross themselves in the choral works of the two great masters. Here they can acquaint themselves with the special performance style that has won the choral conductors and choirs of Pécs such recognition both in Hungary and internationally. The workshop provides an excellent occasion for the young conductors to try out their musical ideas before a quality choir.
In 2010 the repertoire will be complemented with the works of two romantic composers, Ferenc Erkel and Ferenc Liszt. In addition a special opportunity is provided by the course with the choir of the Linz Anton Bruckner Academy of Music professor Kurt Dlouhy, who with his own choir offers a performance of the great Austrian composer Anton Bruckner.
