After two successful domestic and one foreign tour, this autumn MR2-Petőfi Radio takes to the road for the fourth occasion to show what it has to offer of modern music on the concert stage. At the Pécs stopover on the tour the public can hear three bands representing different styles, each being prominent in their own.

Heaven Street Seven
This, the leading Hungarian Britpop band, was formed in 1995, and is one of the country’s most scintillating light music and of international standard. The characteristic singing of Krisztián Szűcs justly makes the wonderful concerts of the elegant, outstandingly orchestrated, guitar-based immensely successful HS7 those of Hungary’s most popular guitarpop groups.


Pannonia All-Stars Ska Orchestra
The band was formed in 2003 and recruited its members from well-known underground bands all over Hungary. PASO’s music is a mixture of traditional ska, reggae and 2tone, but naturally other musical influences can be discovered, from jazz to dub. Their lyrics also vary, for among the more humorous, light-hearted topics can be found pieces criticising society and denouncing aggression and all kinds of hatred.

Csík Band
For 20 years the Csík Band has played a definable role in the folk music of Hungary. Over the past two decades the Kecskemét formation has been awarded a number of prestigious prizes. Their greatest recognition came wth the Fonogram Prize, which they received for their latest, 2007 album, “Senki nem ért semmit” (Nobody Understands Anything), since then a golden album, in the world music category.
